The Moto G5 Plus has been the subject of several rumors and leaks, which have offered details on the impending smartphone.

Now, a leak on Weibo, the Chinese equivalent of Twitter, has brought the Moto G5 Plus back in the news even as Motorola prepares to take the stage at the Mobile World Congress (MWC), this month.

This leak comes just days after an image of the Moto G5 Plus leaked online, which revealed the supposed specs the device may boast.

Now fans get a closer look at the Moto G5 Plus smartphone, especially its rear panel which is shown off by the leaked image.

What Does The Recent Leak Reveal

The Weibo image provides a look into the rear metallic casing of the upgraded device. It also showcases the smartphone's primary camera.

However, the image does not reveal the front panel of the device ,which will surely disappoint fans who were waiting to catch a glimpse of the whole phone and not just its back.

The leak confirms that the Moto G5 Plus shall boast a Sony IMX362 sensor with the lens having F1.7 aperture with support for features like phase focusing.

The Moto G5 Plus will not be the first to house Sony's sensor as the Vivo XPlay6 which is the latest flagship smartphone from the company already sports the IMX362. The best part about this sensor is that it comes with a 1.4 micron size pixel, which results in much sharper and clearer snapshots.

This also lines up with what popular leakster Roland Quandt had revealed in a tweet some days ago.

What Earlier Leaks Revealed

An earlier leak courtesy a Moto G4 community member from Brazil had shown off the front panel of the Moto G5 Plus. This leak offered a peek into the specs of the upcoming smartphone.

While this leaks pointed to 5.2-inch display for the smartphone, previous rumors have hinted at a bigger 5.5-inch screen.

The Moto G5 Plus is also anticipated to feature a 3000 mAh battery with fast charging facilities, as well as house a Snapdragon 625 processor clocked at 2.0GHz. The smartphone may also come with a 12MP primary camera and offer support for NFC and a fingerprint scanner.

These repeated leaks go to show how eagerly fans are awaiting the launch of the Moto G5 Plus. The smartphone may be introduced on Feb. 26 at the company's press event. It may arrive in black and gold colors.
