Valentine's Day is upon us and like every year, some sweet deals are in tow to spread the love. Motorola, for instance, is offering free Moto Mods.

As part of a limited-time, 48-hour "Sweetheart Deals" sale, Motorola is bundling a free Moto Mod when purchasing a Moto smartphone. Several options are available to suit various tastes and preferences, and interested customers have a choice of carrier and modular extension.

More specifically, three Moto Mods are now on offer - the Hasselblad True Zoom, the Moto JBL SoundBoost Speaker, and the Moto Insta-Share Projector - when purchasing one of three smartphones - the Moto Z, Moto Z Force Droid, or Moto Z Play on various carriers.

Moto Sweetheart Deals With Free Moto Mods

The Moto Z Force Droid with a free Hasselblad True Zoom costs $720, and it's available only with Verizon. Likewise, the Moto Z Force Droid with a free Moto Insta-Share Projector is also Verizon exclusive at the same $720 price point.

The Moto Z with a free Hasselblad True Zoom Moto Mod is available with AT&T, T-Mobile, and other carriers, at a price point of $699.99. At the same price and with the same carrier options, interested customers can also get a Moto Z with a free Insta-Share Projector.

For $624, Verizon customers can get either a Moto Z Droid with the Hasselblad True Zoom or a Moto Z Droid with a free Moto Insta-Share Projector. The deal is not available on other carriers, as Droids are Verizon-exclusive.

The Moto Z Play with a free JBL SoundBoost Speaker is available at $449.99 with AT&T, Verizon or T-Mobile, while the Moto Z Play with a Hasselblad True Zoom costs $699.98 with AT&T, T-Mobile and others. The Moto Z Play Droid with a Hasselblad True Zoom Moto Mod costs $657.99, only on Verizon.

All of these deals not only bring a free Moto Mod, but also offer the Moto smartphones at prices lower than regular.

Motorola is also offering the Moto G4 Play for $129.99 instead of $149.99 (carrier-friendly) and the 64 GB Moto Droid Turbo 2 at $528 instead of the regular $720 (Verizon only).

Lastly, a student discount offers a 10 percent price cut on all orders placed through the Motorola Store.

Making Room For Moto G5?

Aside from celebrating Valentine's Day and spreading the love with some attractive deals, Motorola is likely looking to clear some existing inventory as well to make room for new devices such as the Moto G5 Plus.

The company is expected to take the wraps off the new Moto G5 Plus later this month at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 in Barcelona and considering that the smartphone already received the necessary FCC approval earlier this month, it could be on track to hit the U.S. market soon enough.

It remains to be seen just what exactly the Moto G5 Plus will bring to the table, but Moto fans who are not keen on having the latest smartphone could find Motorola's Sweetheart Deals quite attractive. Remember that the Moto Mod bundle deals will expire soon, so interested customers might want to take advantage of the promo while it still lasts.
