The next DLC for Resident Evil 7, titled Not A Hero, is set to be released in the spring, and it brings with it Chris Redfield, a popular character from past games of the franchise.

A word of warning for those who have not yet completed the game, as there are MINOR SPOILERS that will be discussed involving the ending of Resident Evil 7.

Chris Redfield To Be Featured In 'Not A Hero'

Chris Redfield, one of the two playable characters in the first Resident Evil game and many of the other titles in the franchise, will be featured in Not A Hero.

The involvement of Redfield in the next DLC for the game was teased by the official Resident Evil Twitter account.

"Who or what is he chasing? Find out soon in this separate story," the account tweeted, bringing up more questions than answers to the mystery that surrounds the ending of Resident Evil 7.

The Mysterious Ending Of 'Resident Evil 7'

The ending of Resident Evil 7 has spawned countless theories due to the appearance of Redfield. The mystery is not in the mere presence of Redfield in Resident Evil 7, as his character has been very popular throughout the franchise, but rather on the fact that he was riding on a helicopter by the Umbrella Corporation when he appeared to Ethan, the game's main character.

The Umbrella Corporation, for those not aware, is the company that started the zombie outbreak and the enemy throughout the Resident Evil series. As such, it is weird that Redfield will be working with Umbrella, and his introduction as simply "Redfield" in the ending led to speculation that it was not the Chris Redfield that gamers have known.

What Can Gamers Expect From 'Not A Hero'?

The tweet by the official Resident Evil account does not really give away much detail on what gamers can expect from the next DLC of Resident Evil 7, aside from the fact that Redfield will be in it.

Responses to the announcement of Redfield being Not A Hero have been mixed, however, especially with the difference in the design of his character compared to previous games. Redfield has been more muscular in previous Resident Evil titles, though it is possible that his physique is merely being covered up by body armor.

For one thing, gamers will likely find out why Redfield is suddenly connected with Umbrella as revealed in the ending of Resident Evil 7, instead of him embarking on a mission to blow up the company that started the zombie outbreak in the first place.

Some gamers speculate that the "who or what" that Redfield is said to be chasing in Not A Hero is Lucas Baker, who was said to be have retreated to the salt mines at the end of Resident Evil 7. Lucas is the most notable surviving member of the Baker family, who all eerily have perfect teeth.

No concrete release date for Not A Hero has been released by Capcom, and it is likely that the DLC will be released closer to summer.
