A new Nokia 3310 Supremo Putin edition exists and it's made of titanium and gold, in celebration of the Russian Federation and its president.

Nostalgia recently struck big with the redesigned version of the iconic Nokia 3310 and if bringing it back to life was not enough, we're also seeing insanely-priced limited editions of the handset.

Tech Times recently reported on a $3,000 Nokia 3310 luxurious edition and now a Putin-themed version has popped up, looking cheap only by comparison. The Nokia 3310 Supremo Putin still costs an eye-watering $1,700.

Nokia 3310 Supremo Putin Edition

The Supremo Putin version of the new Nokia 3310 doesn't boast more powerful specs and features than the regular version of the phone, but it does feature a case made of gold and titanium, complete with a golden portrait of Russian president Vladimir Putin on its back. Of course, underneath the portrait there's also the Russian national anthem etched in gold.

The Nokia 3310 Supremo Putin comes from Russian manufacturer Caviar, which specializes in luxurious phones. Caviar was also behind the Huawei P9 Friendship Edition smartphone, which sold for roughly $2,700, as well as a number of luxurious iPhone 7 versions.

Nokia 3310 (2017) Specs

The original Nokia 3310 from 2000 was a massive hit, renowned worldwide for its tough build and durability, its impressive battery life and its iconic game, Snake. Of course, back then it was still a big deal to have a mobile phone just because it was mobile.

Nowadays we have smartphones that handle far more than just phone calls and text, but feature phones still have their charm and the new Nokia 3310 comes with a touch of nostalgia and a slight adaptation to modern times.

Aside from the special look and build materials, the Nokia 3310 Supremo Putin has the exact same specifications as the regular Nokia 3310 (2017) announced at the Mobile World Congress 2017. It's still a feature phone with very modest specifications, but this time it features 2.5G connectivity for internet browsing and runs an updated S30+ operating system, as well as an updated version of the highly popular game Snake.

The original Nokia 3310 was famous for its long-lasting battery life and the 2017 refresh continues the tradition, lasting for more than 22 hours of talk time and roughly one month of standby time on a single charge.

The screen of the refreshed version is now bigger and displays visuals in color, and there's also a 2-megapixel camera with LED flash on the back. The handset also has 16 GB of internal storage, expandable up to 32 GB via microSD, as well as a headphone jack, FM radio and MP3 player for music.

The Nokia 3310 (2017) now comes in four color options — two glossy (Warm Red and Yellow) and two matte (Dark Blue and Gray). The phone is rumored to cost roughly $52, which makes sense considering the meager specifications.

That's a far cry from the $1,700 price of the Nokia 3310 Supreme Putin edition, but fandom and luxurious materials don't come cheap. Interested customers can order the titanium and gold version with Putin's portrait from Caviar right now.
