What he lacks in size, he compensates with skills. Lots of it.

Blizzard has rolled out Heroes of the Storm's smallest big hero: Probius. He is a Specialist type of hero that specializes in crowd control, lane domination and area damage. He is based on the Probe unit from Starcraft faction Protoss.

The update is part of the latest patch for Heroes of the Storm, which also includes bug fixes and game additions, such as an epic stag mount.

Heroes of the Storm is a multiplayer online battle arena, or MOBA, that features characters from Blizzard franchises such as Warcraft, Starcraft, Diablo, Overwatch, and The Lost Vikings. It can be played on Windows and Mac OS.

Meet Probius, The Biggest Small Hero

Blizzard announced the new hero via Twitter together with the gameplay reveal video trailer.

Probius is based on the Starcraft unit Probe, the basic worker unit of the faction Protoss that warps in structures during construction. True enough, Probius' skills include summoning structures like Pylons from the time-space void.

A bit of a backstory: According to his official bio, Probius has always wanted to prove himself ever since he was activated.

"He may be small, but he made a big difference by warping in a critical pylon during the retaking of Aiur. As the bravest of probes, Probius is eager to fulfill his purpose in the Nexus," wrote the bio.

Big Skills Come In A Small Package

Now for his skills. Probius is a crowd control and lane specialist, meaning his skills are geared toward killing minions, controlling lanes and debuffing enemies.

His Hero Trait is Warp in Pylon (D). Probius can summon up to two Pylons that produce a Power Field in the surrounding area, as well as granting area vision. Probius only regens mana while inside the field.

Disruption Pulse (Q) is Probius's first skill. He fires a burst of energy that deals 150 damage to all enemies. If it hits a Warp Rift, it will cause an explosion that deals additional burst damage.

With Warp Rift (W), Probius opens an unstable rift that slows nearby enemies by 20% for nine seconds. It takes 1.25 seconds to arm. When hit by Disruption Pulse, it will explode and deal 261 damage.

Probius's main damage dealing skill is Photon Cannon (E). He warps a photon cannon that deals 95 damage per second. The cannon lasts for 11 seconds and can only be cast within a Pylon's field. It will deactivate if the nearby Pylon is gone.

Probius's Heroic Abilities (R) are:

Pylon Overcharge. He increases the size of Pylon fields and allows them to attack enemies inside the field for 110 damage per second for 10 secs. As a bonus passive skill, Pylons gain permanent shields equal to 50% of max health.

Null Gate. Probius casts a wall of energy in a specified direction and angle. This energy barrier lasts for four seconds, and enemies who touch or pass through the barrier will take 64 damage. The biggest catch? They will be slowed down by 80% while they're in contact with it.
