Apple paints a portion of the App Store (RED), in a good way, as it encourages consumers to purchase any of 25 apps selected to generate money for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS ahead of 2014's World AIDS Day.

All proceeds from the apps during the two-week campaign will go directly to the Global Fund, as part of an agreement between the Cupertino, Calif., tech company and each of the app developers. The developers have added exclusive content to the apps to make them even more appealing.

"Apple isn't just in the fight to end AIDS. They are setting a new bar for business, giving $75 million and counting to the Global Fund as part of their partnership with (RED)," said Bono, co-founder of (RED) and U2 frontman. "I couldn't be prouder to work with them."

Along with donating proceeds from the apps, Apple is giving a portion of its Black Friday and Cyber Monday retail and online sales to the charitable organization on Dec. 1, World AIDs Day.

The (RED) campaign will run from Nov. 24 to Dec. 7. Consumers who purchase select Apple products will receive a Red edition of an iTunes gift card and Apple will divert a percentage of each card to the Global Fund.

Tim Cook, Apple's CEO, says his company believes life is one of the most vital things anyone can give.

"For eight years, our customers have been helping fight AIDS in Africa by funding life-saving treatments which are having a profoundly positive impact," says Cook. "This year we are launching our biggest fundraising push yet with the participation of Apple's retail and online stores, and some of the brightest minds in the App Store are lending their talents to the effort as well."

There are some true gems among the 25 apps promoted in the (RED) campaign, including surreal puzzler Monument Valley and music-driven platformer Rayman Fiesta Run. The rest of the apps that have been painted red in honor of World Aids Day include: Angry Birds, Bubble Witch 2 Saga, CSR Racing, Clash of Clans, Clear, Cut the Rope 2, Despicable Me, DJay 2, FarmVille 2: Country Escape, FIFA 15 Ultimate Team, Frozen Free Fall, GarageBand, Kim Kardashian: Hollywood, Heads Up!, The Human Body, Kitchen Stories Recipes, Over (a limited edition app of fonts and artwork), Paper by FiftyThree, Puzzles & Dragons, Star Walk 2, Sims FreePlay, Threes!, and Toca Boca.
