Apple has rolled out the final version of iOS 10.3.3 to the public, two months after the launch of iOS 10.3.2.

Similar to iOS 10.3.2, iOS 10.3.3 is considered a minor update in preparation for the arrival of the highly anticipated next major version of Apple's mobile operating system, iOS 11. Nevertheless, iPhone and iPad owners are highly recommended to install the iOS 10.3.3 update as soon as they are able to.

What's In iOS 10.3.3?

The iOS 10.3.3 update is a minor one, so users should not expect the addition of any groundbreaking features to the mobile operating system.

Users should definitely download iOS 10.3.3 as soon as it is available to them, though, as the version upgrade patches up several vulnerabilities, some of which allow for remote code execution.

In addition to that, the update also patches up an issue that allowed attackers to execute code on the Broadcom Wi-Fi chip, which would allow them to take over their targeted iOS devices. The details of the exploit, first publicized in an Android security bulletin, will likely be explained at the upcoming BlackHat cybersecurity conference.

A wide range of smartphones and other mobile devices use the BCM4354, 4358, and 4359 chips of Broadcom, which are vulnerable to the bug. The threat of attackers using the exploit to take over control of devices is very serious, so owners of iOS mobile devices should not think twice about installing the iOS 10.3.3 update.

The new iOS version also includes other security enhancements, bug fixes, and other minor improvements to the mobile operating system. The iOS 10.3.3 size will only range between 80 MB and 100 MB, depending on the device, which represents just a short wait in exchange for patching up possibly severe vulnerabilities.

Apple Looks Ahead To iOS 11

The work of Apple on the iOS 10 is winding down as the company starts to shift its focus to the iOS 11, which was first unveiled at the Worldwide Developers Conference in June.

The upcoming iOS 11 was one of the key topics for WWDC 2017, which was not surprising at all given the history of the annual event. Apple revealed many changes coming to the mobile operating system with its next major version, including improvements to iMessage, Siri, and Apple's other apps.

For users interested in getting an early glimpse of what the next major iOS version offers, they can sign up to be a beta tester. Apple released the iOS 11 public beta 2 last week, adding general bug fixes, Siri enhancements, and improvements to the Camera app's 3D Touch options.
