At the end of last season, Netflix's breakout hit House of Cards left viewers breathless as [spoiler alert] antihero Frank Underwood was being sworn in as the President of the United States.

After two seasons of ruthless scheming and manipulating, Kevin Spacey's character finally achieved his goal of assuming the highest office in the land. His devoted — and equally power-hungry — wife Claire (Robin Wright) was right at his side.

Fans have been waiting since February '14 to find out what happens once Underwood is installed in office, and the wait is nearly over. Close to one year to the day since Season 2 premiered, Netflix has announced that Season 3 will be available to stream starting February 27, 2015. It was announced via this little teaser on Twitter.

The elephant in the room here is that there are no more rungs left on the ladder for Frank to climb. The entire thrust of the series so far has revolved entirely around his machinations to seize power. Will the series still be compelling without that all-important lust for what he doesn't have?

Very likely, Frank and Claire will now have to focus on keeping said power, fending off equally ambitious and corrupt politicians gunning for his position from all sides.

We'll find out how long he can hold on to it this February.
