Christmas carols can certainly make you feel the holiday spirit but if you want a geeky way to celebrate Christmas, you would want to use your mobile device and turn it into a Christmas carol karaoke machine.

Google Search now allows users to use their smartphone or tablet as a handy karaoke machine this holiday season, and is especially useful to those who forget the lyrics to popular Christmas carols.

To be the life of Christmas parties, all users need to do is open Google Search on their device, tap the microphone and say "let's go caroling." The command will prompt Google to show up a page that asks users which of the five available carols they would like to sing. Users can choose from "Up on the House Top," "Jingle Bells," "Deck the Halls," "O Christmas Tree" and "We Wish You a Merry Christmas."

The little Easter egg also works in most browsers and on both the iOS and Android platforms but the process is much easier for owners of Moto X because they do not have to touch their phone. All they need to do is say "OK, Google Now, let's go caroling" to come up to the Christmas carol karaoke page. Mobile users who own Nexus 5 can say the same thing from their home screen.

Users can tap on the song that they want and this will pull up the lyrics and load up the song. A play icon will also appear on the screen that users would have to tap to start their sing-along and just like a real karaoke, a bouncing ball will appear to help users know when to sing the next word.

Google has been rolling out features like this one over the past few weeks to celebrate the holidays. The company, for instance, launched a Santa Claus tracker and added a feature to Google+ that adds falling snow and sparkles to complement holiday related pictures.
