Reboots are always tricky, but considering how far Terminator: Salvation missed the mark, rebooting the iconic film franchise was clearly the best choice. Fans knew there were some drastic changes coming to the Terminator story, but anything is better than watching Christian Bale pointlessly scream at nothing for two hours, right?

Now, after months of anticipation, the first trailer for Terminator: Genisys has finally made its debut. For the first time, fans get to see the new Sarah Connor, the new T-800 and both versions of Arnold.

At the very least, there's a lot going on in the trailer. The film will head back to the original movie's interpretation of the future, then skips forward to a completely revamped present day, then introduces a new T-1000 (which is the best thing about the trailer), before finally introducing two separate Arnolds before the Terminator headbutts a helicopter out of the air. Does your head hurt yet?

If anything, the film still has potential, even if the trailer is a bit cluttered and doesn't do its best to really highlight anything in particular. The movie itself is still a long ways off, and Terminator: Genisys won't make its debut in theaters until July 1, 2015. Here's the official synopsis for the movie:

The year is 2029. John Connor, leader of the resistance continues the war against the machines. At the Los Angeles offensive, John's fears of the unknown future begin to emerge when TECOM spies reveal a new plot by SkyNet that will attack him from both fronts; past and future, and will ultimately change warfare forever.
