A new report claims that HTC is preparing to launch a new high-end flagship smartphone at CES 2015 in January. The HTC 'Hima' will boast a 5-inch 1080p display, 64-bit 8-core Snapdragon 810 processor, 20.7-megapixel camera and more.

As 2014 draws to a close, it marks the beginning of intense speculation on next-generation flagship Android smartphones coming in 2015. We just reported that Samsung is rumored to be well on its way in delivering its Galaxy S5 successor at Mobile World Congress in March 2015. The company will reportedly officially announce the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge to kick off the show.

HTC is also preparing to release its 2015 flagship smartphones. There have been reports about the HTC One M9, which is expected to compete directly with Samsung's Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note Edge, Apple's iPhone 6 Plus, and Google's Nexus 6. The HTC One M9 will reportedly pack in a 5.5-inch 2560 x 1440 Quad HD display, which is smaller than Samsung's and Google's offering, and the same size as the iPhone 6 Plus.

The HTC One M9 isn't the only flagship smartphone HTC is preparing to release in the near future. A new report from the very reliable Upleaks claims that HTC will introduce a new high-end smartphone with impressive specs. The handset will likely be positioned to battle the iPhone 6, Samsung Galaxy S6, and Moto X.

The HTC Hima will reportedly boast a 5-inch 1920 x 1080 Full HD display and will be powered by a 2 GHz, 8-core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, Adreno 430 GPU (graphics processing unit), and 3 GB of RAM. The smartphone will ship with Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box and an updated version of HTC's Sense 7 UI, of which images recently leaked.

The tipster claims that the HTC Hima will include a 20.7-megapixel rear camera and either a 13-megapixel or 4-megapixel UltraPixel front shooter for video chat and selfies. It will support VoLTE (Voice over LTE) and pack in a large 2,840 mAh battery.

The HTC Hima is reportedly currently in testing with AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile and is expected to be announced at CES in January. The smartphone will likely see a March 2015 release.
