Dataminers were able to extract a significant amount of information on what is coming next to PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds through the multiplayer shooter's test servers.

Developer Bluehole studio might be busy in creating a new steampunk MMORPG and porting PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds to the Xbox One, but it has not stopped working on making the already historic game even better.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Desert Map Layout

The latest test patch has just been pushed to the PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds test servers, but dataminers have already acquired new files and made important discoveries such as the layout of the new desert map.

The PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds desert map is already known to be coming soon, but the discovered minimap, uploaded to the game's official subreddit, is the first good look at its layout.

The desert map features 20 named locations, though it is unclear if the names mentioned in the minimap are the final ones. Even if they are placeholders, some of the names give a good idea of what that area would be like, such as Crater Alpha, Crater Bravo, Cartel Mansion, and Military Base.

Some of the locations on the minimap look more interesting than others though. The Prison is located at the very bottom-left of the map and is surrounded by water, accessible through two bridges. There is also a location named Wasteland, which could be something like a nuclear plant. Lastly, there is an area named Zombie, but it is very hard to guess what it is based on the markings on the minimap. Will Bluehole Studios really add the undead to PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds?

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds New Vehicles And Weapon

The desert map layout is not the only notable thing that dataminers have discovered. Also found in the PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds test servers are new vehicles in the form of a jet ski to ride through the water channels, a Volkswagen minibus for large teams, and a pickup truck. The vehicles do not look finished, especially the jet ski as it looks like wooden clogs, but they will appear in PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds with the proper skins to make them look much better.

The dataminers also pulled what appears to be the DP-28, a new weapon to the game. The light machine gun was used by the Soviet military from 1928 to the 1960s.

What's Next For 'PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds'?

The test servers are online to prepare for the highly anticipated full release of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds on the PC. It is on track to be rolled out in December.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds for the Xbox One, meanwhile, will launch on Dec. 12 under the Xbox Game Preview program. This is similar to how the game was first released under Steam's Early Access program for the PC.
