Sony unveiled the free PlayStation Plus games for January 2018, headlined by Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and Batman: The Telltale Series for the PlayStation 4.

The lineup of free downloads for PlayStation Plus subscribers next month is arguably the best one in recent memory, for an explosive start to 2018.

Free PlayStation Plus Games For January 2018

In an official PlayStation blog post, Sony unveiled the PlayStation 4 titles Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and Batman: The Telltale Series as part of the free PlayStation Plus games for January 2018.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, released in 2016 as the sequel to Deus Ex: Human Revolution of 2011, combines elements of first-person action, RPG, and stealth. The game follows the story of Adam Jensen, an agent who has received augmentations to his body, as he looks to maintain order between natural humans and people like him who have had mechanical parts attached to their bodies.

Batman: The Telltale Series, meanwhile, is an episodic adventure that started in August 2016 and ended the same year with the fifth episode. Players will make decisions as both Batman and Bruce Wayne, with each decision carrying a consequence as the story of the game unfolds.

PlayStation 4 owners will also be able to download Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness and Uncanny Valley for free, with both games cross-buys for the PlayStation Vita. Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness is a visual novel that is based on the popular anime series, while Uncanny Valley is a survival horror title with pixel-art graphics.

For the PlayStation 3, the free games for January 2018 are fantasy RPG Sacred 3 and the point-and-click adventure The Book of Unwritten Tales 2.

Sony also noted that Starblood Arena, an arena combat game for the PlayStation VR, will be available to PlayStation Plus subscribers next year from Jan. 2 to March 6. Members who play Warframe can also purchase the PlayStation Plus Booster Pack II Bundle, which will be available until Feb. 13, 2018.

Free PlayStation Plus Games For December 2017

The January 2018 lineup of free PlayStation Plus games is much better compared to the December 2017 offer, which includes PlayStation 4 titles Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition and Kung Fu Panda: Showdown of Legendary Legends, PlayStation 3 titles Syberia Collection and Xblaze Lost: Memories, and PlayStation Vita titles Forma.8 and Wanted Corp.

The amazing start to 2018 may make players think about signing up for the service or renewing their memberships, especially as PlayStation Plus subscriptions allow access to perks such as the Monster Hunter: World beta.
