You may remember Destiny music composer and former Bungie employee Martin O' Donnell announcing he was collaborating with Paul McCartney of Beatles fame on the Destiny soundtrack.

After watching McCartney's official Destiny music video "Hope For The Future", collaborate might not be the best word. More like paste a hologram of McCartney flailing his arms about into Destiny and call it a done deal.

It is, by all means, a train wreck. McCartney's actual song isn't...terrible, per se, but as for everything else? The entire music video is a crude hologram of McCartney dancing and singing, while Destiny players sit around him and listen in awe. Huh? Sure, Destiny's scenery is beautiful, and the game's tone is optimistic. That fits well with the lyrics of McCartney's song. After all, players in Destiny are the Guardians of light fighting back the darkness and restoring humanity's lost golden age. We get it. "Hope for the future." Clever.

But did we really need an entirely in-game music video of nothing but players sitting on the ground? If you know anything about Destiny, you know it's mostly about shooting aliens. Not a whole lot of sitting around. If you are going to express yourself, you are going to be dancing. You know, that thing people do when listening to music. Unless it is McCartney's music, apparently. That will put you right to sleep.
