The Alexa-powered Amazon Echo Spot bedside speaker is now officially available for preorder in the UK and is set to start shipping later this month.
The Echo Spot made its debut alongside other Amazon Echo models back in September 2017, but so far it has been available only in the United States. The company promised to expand the speaker's availability across the Atlantic as well, and the new UK release finally brings it to Europe, months after the U.S. launch.

Alexa-powered devices are currently at the top of the smart speaker market and as competition is ramping up, Amazon is making efforts to expand its reach. The company has been expanding its ecosystem and adding more devices to its product portfolio, enjoying great momentum.
During the 2017 holiday season, the Echo Dot not only ranked as the top-selling Amazon device but also as the bestselling product on Amazon, in all categories and from all manufacturers.
Amazon Echo Spot Hits The UK
The new Echo Spot has not enjoyed the same success as the Echo Dot or other Amazon Echo speakers, but it's just getting started and wider availability should notably boost its success.
The Echo Spot packs the popular Amazon Alexa assistant in a smaller form factor and adds a circular screen so that users can view various information on the device. Amazon touts that the speaker's size and screen viewing angle allows it to fit perfectly on a bedside table or on a desk where users can easily watch video flash briefings, check their calendar, set music alarms, and more.
Alternately, the Echo Spot could also prove useful in the kitchen, where users could handle their shopping lists, to-do-lists, recipes, or make calls with Alexa.

Echo Spot UK Price And Release
The Amazon Echo Spot is launching in the UK at £120, but the company is now offering a bundle deal that shaves £20 off the regular price, offering two Echo Spot units at £200 when purchased together. The device is available for preorder now and it's set to start shipping on Jan. 24.
