Back in 2017, Mutant Football League was initially released for PC through Steam. Developer Digital Dreams Entertainment has now made Mutant Football League available to purchase for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Xbox One and PlayStation 4 owners have been waiting a long time for Mutant Football League to hit major game consoles.

Mendheim Launches A Kickstarter Campaign To Raise $750,000

Creative Director Michael Mendheim launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise $750,000 so Mutant League Football could be released on Xbox 360, mobile devices, and Windows PC.

While Mutant Football League's Kickstarter campaign only raised $141,821 out of its original funding goal of $750,000, with a total of 1,105 backers, it was enough to release on Xbox One and PS4.

Mutant Football League Is The Most Violent Game

Mendheim said Mutant Football League is going to be the most "violent game ever played" in the football series. Users can destroy their opponents by slicing, dicing, burning, or drowning them. The game is also filled with deep strategy, twisted humor, and customization for creatures in the game that fans grew to love.

Mendheim claims the new game is set to be more fast-paced compared to the original game.

"All of the characters and teams are also new, but the humor, spirit, and personality from the original game will be kept intact," said Mendheim.

In Mutant Football League, users go battle it out with other players around the world. There's an option to take part in single game mode, full season mode, or adjust the levels of violence throughout the game.

In addition, users have the ability to customize their team, team colors, and the logo. Users can also assign team members specific positions, give players names, and select a coach to lead the team to the top. Once teams have been customized users can then compete in violent action.

What's the difference between Mendheim's version of Mutant Football League compared to the original by EA? The game features multiplayer, versus, and co-op modes. Mendheim added that a game like Mutant Football League is more fun when competing against players from around the world.

Mutant Football League is the successor to Electronic Arts Mutant League Football, which was released for the Sega Genesis in 1993.

Mutant Football League still has yet to be released for mobile devices, but we'll be sure to update when it does launch on the App Store and Google Play.
