Square Enix has revealed that the mobile adaptation to the popular Final Fantasy XV title will be arriving on Feb. 9.

Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition will be coming to iOS and Android in the second week of February. Different from the console version, the Pocket Edition has a much cartoonish style for the settings, characters, and monsters. The gameplay is also different and better suited for mobile gaming.

Additionally, a new card on the Apple App Store confirms the news and shows off the release date, some gameplay, and background about the game. Any gamers interested in the game can pre-register for the game on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Pre-registering will automatically download the game once it arrives on the platform.

What Is Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition?

The new mobile game from Square Enix allows players to jump into the world of Final Fantasy XV on iOS, Android, and Window 10 devices.

In the mobile game, players will see the retelling of the Final Fantasy XV storyline. The game will contain all the main characters and users will see every aspect from the console and PC versions. With the mobile features, gamers can play anywhere with casual touch controls optimized for the mobile screen.

The first chapter of the game will be free for players and each chapter after will be an in-game purchase.

Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition will feature all 10 chapters of the game from the start. Both chapter two and three will be only $0.99 and chapters four through 10 will cost $3.99. There is a bundle cost that will be $19.99 for all 10 chapters.

Devices And Software Requirements

For iOS users, Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition will work on the iPhone and iPad devices. Said devices will need to be running iOS 11.1 or later.

As for the iPhone devices, players will need an iPhone 6s or later. The iPad Pro, fifth generation iPad, iPad Air 2, and iPad Mini 4 will be supported. Users will need 5 GB of disc space to play the title, while the higher resolution version requires 8 GB.

Android users will need to be running Android 5.0 or later. Their device will need a CPU of 1.5GHz or greater, 2 GB of RAM or higher, and again the 5 GB of storage or 8 GB for the higher resolution. Square Enix notes that some devices aren’t supported even if they have all the required tech specs.
