Chocoholics rejoice because today is National Chocolate Covered Anything Day. That's right, December 16 is the day to indulge and celebrate our shared love for chocolate.

Chocolate can be added to just about anything from main courses, snacks and of course desserts. So make everything sweeter today and throughout the holiday season by making and eating these chocolate recipes to share with your friends and family..  

Whether you are hosting a holiday gathering or attending one, these recipes will surely be part of your holiday memories.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Buckeyes

Of course there will be Christmas cookies, but imagine if a cookie, a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup and a truffle came together in one epic bite-sized treat? Buckeyes are exactly that. And you don't even have to bake them. 

To make the Chocolate Peanut Butter Buckeyes, melt 2 cups of peanut butter in a sauce pan, remove from heat and combine with 3 cups of Rice Krispies and 1 pound confectioners' sugar. The mixture should be stiff so roll it into 1-inch balls. Refrigerate for 2 hours and place toothpicks into the center. Melt chocolate and paraffin wax, remove from heat and dip the peanut butter balls in. Place them onto wax paper and let harden and serve in cupcake wrappers. See the full recipe here.  

German Chocolate Bombs

What better chocolate combo than cake, mousse and pudding? There are several steps to making these German Chocolate Bombs because the recipe includes a coconut-pecan filling, chocolate mousse, chocolate glaze, and actual cake. But don't be overwhelmed! This recipe is still manageable and could be made ahead of your holiday party. After making all the recipe components, simply scoop chocolate mousse into the cake molds and coconut-pecan filling, cover with plastic wrap and freeze over night. White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake

Move over milk chocolate, this White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake may just win our hearts. To make this dessert, preheat the oven to 325 degrees F, and mix 1 cup of chocolate cookie crumbs with sugar and melted butter and put mixture into a 9-inch pan. Meanwhile, throw 10 ounces of raspberries, cornstarch and water into a saucepan and boil until thick, making sure to strain after to remove seeds. Melt 2 cups of white chocolate chips in a metal bowl and combine cream cheese, sugar, eggs, white chocolate chips and raspberry sauce into pan, swirling raspberry sauce on top. Hot Chocolate Layer Cake with Homemade Marshmallows

Of course you have to have a classic chocolate cake, so this Hot Chocolate Layer Cake is a must-have this holiday season. To make the hot chocolate mixture melt butter, oil, chopped chocolate and 1 cup of water until melted. Whisk flour, sugar and cocoa powder and the hot chocolate mixture. Add in eggs, buttermilk, vanilla, baking soda and salt. Divide mixture between 3 9x2-inch round cake pans and bake for about 35 minutes. Stack cake layers, add frosting and dress with marshmallows. Chewy Chocolate Peppermint Cookies

You have to have cookies on your holiday dessert list, but after indulging in all these desserts, you may want a low-cal option that still tastes amazing. These Chewy Chocolate Peppermint Cookies only have 83 calories per cookie, so it's totally cool to have two with a glass of almond milk. The recipe calls for a sugar substitute, egg whites and skim milk to make it lighter. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and mix sugar-free powdered sugar, cocoa powder, salt and baking powder in a bowl. In a separate bowl stir  egg whites and milk and then combine both bowls together. Scoop up batter and drop onto cookie sheet, sprinkling in peppermint chips. Bake for 15 minutes and decorate with crushed candy canes. 

Baked Alaska with Chocolate Cake and Chocolate Ice Cream

Leave it to Martha Stewart to wow us with this chocolate with ice cream combo that is as magical as a Christmas snow fall. This Baked Alaska with Chocolate Cake and Chocolate Ice Cream includes a thick caramelized meringue on the outside and a soft and chilly cake and ice cream core. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F and combine 1 1/3 cups sugar, flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and 1 teaspoon salt, oil, water, and vanilla into a bowl. Separately whisk egg whites and 2/3 cup of sugar and combine into mixture. Pour batter into two 12-by-17-inch rimmed baking sheets for 20 minutes and let cool. Spray cooking spray on six 11-ounce bowls and line with plastic wrap and cut cake circles to fit into bottom of bowls. Fill each with chocolate ice cream and then another cake circle on top and freeze for 30 minutes.
