Lenovo first showcased its Mirage camera with Daydream at CES 2018, which was held in January. Now, fans can finally get their hands on it.

Lenovo Mirage Camera Available For Preorder On Amazon

The Tracker app, which monitors inventory and product stocks of stores, discovered the Mirage camera to be available on Amazon now for preorder.

According to the Amazon listing, the camera costs $299.99, and it starts shipping on May 4.

Lenovo announced the Mirage camera with the Mirage Solo, a standalone VR headset, but the latter is still listed as currently unavailable on Amazon. However, both devices have been available for preorder for some time now on B&H for $299.99 and $399.99, respectively.

The online retailer lists both gadgets to have an expected availability of May 7, which was changed from May 11. It's unknown whether Amazon will get some stocks first or one of the retailers is wrong.

Mirage Integrates VR With Point-And-Shoot Cameras

The Mirage VR camera is the product of a collaboration between Lenovo and Google. The camera is akin to a simple point-and-shoot camera except it has VR capabilities with compatibility with Google's VR platform Daydream.

The camera comes with two 13-megapixel lenses, each providing a 180-degree viewing angle. The lenses shoot 4K videos and provide a 3D effect.

Lenovo designed it to be as simple as possible with only three buttons: shutter, power, and function. Its simplicity comes at a cost, though, as it lacks a viewfinder at the back of the camera.

However, its connectivity features can stand in for the missing viewfinder. It connects to the VR180 app so that users can view what they're recording on their phones. The Mirage is also fully integrated with Google Photos and YouTube, allowing users to easily stream or upload to these platforms.

People can view the videos without needing a VR headset as they are exactly like 2D videos with ultra-high resolution. Still, viewing these with a VR headset, such as the Lenovo Mirage Solo with Daydream, will provide a more immersive experience.

"Relive those precious moments with family as if you were there again, replaying your daughter's game-winning goal or recapturing that feeling when your dad unwrapped the perfect birthday gift," Lenovo said in a blog post.

Lenovo Mirage Camera With Daydream Specifications

On the inside, the Lenovo Mirage camera sports a Snapdragon 626 SoC with 2 GB RAM. It comes with 16 GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 128 GB via a microSD card.

It is powered by a removable battery, though users can charge it via the USB Type-C port. A single charge can power the camera for up to two hours of nonstop HD video recording.
