Normally the week of Christmas might be a little less busy for tech news, but that's not the case for this past week.

In case you've been too busy enjoying the holidays to catch up on the latest tech news, here's a list of the top new headlines for the past week.

Sony Pictures Releases 'The Interview'

Sony Pictures has released the movie The Interview after previously stating it would pull the movie from any kind of release after the company was hacked by a group who call themselves the Guardians Of Peace. The hacker group released unreleased movies, employee Social Security numbers and confidential emails. The hackers then threatened a 9/11 style attack if the company went ahead and released The Interview.

The FBI said the hack was reportedly carried out by North Korea in retaliation for the movie, which depicts the attempted assassination of leader Kim Jong Un. It is now available on Google Play and YouTube, as well as in certain cinemas.

Net Neutrality Rules to be Adopted In Early 2015

The FCC will be adopting new net neutrality rules starting in early 2015, although it is currently not known what those rules will look like.

The FCC has been under pressure from both the general public and President Barack Obama to enforce strong rules regarding net neutrality, essentially meaning all websites will be considered equal in the eyes of an Internet service provider and some transmissions won't be "fast tracked" for a fee.

Minneapolis to Get 10 Gbps Internet

Minneapolis will hold the title of the city with the fastest Internet speed when service provider U.S. Internet implements its 10 gigabits per second Internet service.

The service won't come cheap, however, costing a pretty $399 per month. The company does, however, also offer 1 Gbps Internet, which is still far faster than service offered by the likes of Comcast and Time Warner and costs only $65. Service at 100 megabits per second, which is again faster than what companies like Comcast offer, costs $47 per month.

Apple to Release Three iPhones in 2015

Apple is highly likely to release not two but three iPhones in 2015, with a phablet-sized successor to the iPhone 6 Plus, a 4.7-inch successor to the iPhone 6, and what many are dubbing the "iPhone 6s Mini," which will return to the company's previous offering of a 4-inch screen size.

It is currently not known if the company will release the phone in the first half of the year or along with the other two sizes of iPhone in September or October.

CES Rumors Begin to Swirl

The world's biggest gadget and computer show, 2015 CES in Las Vegas, is right around the corner, and a lot of speculation is being made about what could be released at the event.

One company set to make big announcements is Sony, which is expected to release either a new smartphone or a new Android TV device.

LG will also be releasing a new set of speakers to add to its MusicFlow wireless speaker system.

Both wearable tech and home automation devices are set to be a big part of the show.
