Fortnite is one of the most popular games at the moment and it hosts weekly challenges to keep players engaged. The latest challenge for Week 8 has users in search for hungry gnomes.
Despite the fact that virtually everything leaks out in this day and age, Fortnite has managed to keep its challenges under wraps until a few hours before they go live. That's no easy feat, but it allows for a greater surprise.
'Fortnite' Hungry Gnomes Challenge
Fortnite previously included gnomes as a challenge in Season 3, when players had to find seven hidden gnomes. This time around, in the recently released Season 4, the number of gnomes to find remains the same at seven, but they're hungry gnomes now. Nevertheless, they're still not that easy to find.
The seven hungry gnomes are scattered across the map in specific locations, and one has to do some searching to find them all. Completing the hungry gnomes challenge will net players some extra XP that they can put toward greater rewards in Season 4. However, it's worth pointing out that only Fortnite players with a Battle Pass can take part in this challenge.
How To Find Hungry Gnomes In 'Fortnite'
The hungry gnomes are well-hidden in various locations across the map, but some tell-tale signs can help players narrow things down and figure out where to look in the game. Instead of searching the whole map in and out, first of all keep in mind that these are hungry gnomes.
Consequently, start looking for them in locations where they would have easy access to food to ease their hunger. If you see a gas station, taco shop, food store, or some other building or location with food on the premises, look for a hungry gnome nearby.
At the same time, gnomes also emit a high-pitched sound. This means that when you hear an odd chatter, you're likely close to a gnome. Pair that with their appetite for food and you should have the location narrowed down quite a lot.
'Fortnite' Hungry Gnomes Locations
If that's not enough to get you going and you'd rather just know the exact locations from the get go, so be it. We will not be going into exact details as not to ruin all the fun, but we'll list some locations hiding hungry gnomes.
Without further ado, you'll find what you're looking for at the Retail Row, Lucky Landing, Risky Reels, Pleasant Park, Salty Springs, Tilted Towers, Greasy Grove, Tomato Town, the warehouses near Flush Factory, the Soccer Field, Shifty Shafts, Moisty Mire, and likely more.
There are at least 14 locations with hungry gnomes scattered across the map, but you only need to find seven of them to complete the challenge. When you stumble upon a hungry gnome, just interact with it and it will disappear. Happy hunting!
