Heads up, gamers: a major title is leaving the Xbox marketplace for good. Turn 10, the studio that made Forza Horizon 2, has confirmed that the game is going to be pulled at the beginning of October.

That means players should pick up the open-world racing title now, alongside any DLC available, because they'll all disappear in a few weeks' time. Thankfully, the game is included in this month's Xbox Live Games with Gold lineup, alongside For Honor Standard Edition, Dead Space 3, and Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two, so Xbox Live Gold members can still snag the title up for free up until the end of August.

Forza Horizon 2 Leaving Xbox Games Store For Good

After Sept. 30, those who've downloaded the game or any of its DLC will still be able to download them again, as Turn 10 makes clear. However, it will simply not be available to anyone who has never purchased it previously.

So why is Microsoft pulling the game from its storefront? Well, as Polygon speculates, licensing might have something to do with it, and the fact that Forza Horizon 4 will launch on Oct. 2. Just note that this isn't anything new for the studio. The original Forza Horizon, launched in 2012, was also pulled after a four-year lifespan. Forza Horizon 2 came out in 2014 — do the math.

Keep in mind that the standard edition of the game is the only one available in the Games with Gold lineup for August, so those who want the rest of the DLC will have to purchase it separately. There'd be no shortage of content right off the bat, though. Players should still find themselves pretty busy even without jumping onboard the DLC train.

"Drive over 200 exotic cars and explore the beautiful vistas of southern France and northern Italy like never before, in this 10th anniversary edition of Forza Horizon 2," according to the game's description. "Show off your driving skills with friends online in challenging races and events, day or night, in dynamic weather conditions. A world of beauty and freedom awaits in this ultimate celebration of speed and style"

But those who do want the extra set of DLC must purchase it before October comes.
