A new Devil May Cry 5 gameplay trailer from Gamescom 2018 revealed the release date for the stylish action game, which will be coming to the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Windows PC.

The Devil May Cry 5 trailer has generated a lot of excitement, with massive upvotes on YouTube compared to virtually no downvotes.

Devil May Cry 5 Release Date, And Nero's Devil Breakers

Capcom rolled out a new Devil May Cry 5 trailer during Microsoft's Inside Xbox show at Gamescom 2018 in Germany. The gameplay featured in the video focused on Nero's Devil Breakers, before revealing the release date of March 8, 2019.

The Devil Breakers are mechanical arms that were crafted by Nero's ally and self-proclaimed weapons artist Nico. There are eight standard Devil Breakers in the game, according to Capcom. One is the Overture, which is an electrified arm capable of shocking opponents, and another is the Gerbera, which can generate intense heat that Nero can shoot as a powerful shockwave. The trailer also showed Nero using his Devil Breakers to use a grappling hook to snatch enemies and use rocket power to surf through the air.

Of course, Nero will still have his sword, the Red Queen, and his gun, the Blue Rose, in his arsenal, giving players a variety of options on how they will take down their enemies.

An older version of Dante, the protagonist of previous Devil May Cry games, appears at the end of the trailer with an upgrade of his own. Dante's motorcycle is apparently also a weapon, capable of splitting into two massive swords.

What Else Can Gamers Expect From 'Devil May Cry 5'?

Fans of the Devil May Cry franchise were hoping that an unlockable skin in Monster Hunter: World will not be the only way that they can play as Dante in the near future. While Dante has been relegated to a secondary character in Devil May Cry 5 behind Nero, gamers who were waiting for the next installment in the action series certainly would not mind.

Devil May Cry 5 was announced during the Microsoft press conference at E3 2018, as the long-awaited successor to Devil May Cry 4 from 2008. The 11-year-wait for the continuation of the Devil May Cry franchise was met with massive hype, as there were no signs that Capcom was working on Devil May Cry 5.

The focus of the game shifts to Nero, who first appeared in Devil May Cry 4, and Nico. In between the events of Devil May Cry 4 and Devil May Cry 5, Nero apparently lost his arm, with Nico creating the Devil Breaker as both a replacement arm and a new weapon alongside the Red Queen and Blue Rose.

As seen in the new trailer from Gamescom 2018, Devil May Cry 5 will keep the fast-paced action that has been a signature of the franchise. The game will also offer three playable characters, with the identity of the third one after Nero and Dante still unknown.
