After months of delays, Samsung says the Galaxy Fold is now ready for relaunch. The redesigned version — hopefully without faulty screens — will finally be out this September.

However, this time, it's losing one major U.S. carrier.

T-Mobile Has A Change Of Heart

For the uninitiated, only two networks were supposed to carry the Galaxy Fold during its original release back in April: AT&T and T-Mobile. Now, T-Mobile seems to be abandoning the idea after a whole bunch of problems appeared on test units released to tech publications and reviewers.

T-Mobile has now confirmed that it will not be selling the Galaxy Fold once it relaunches later this year. The company shared a brief statement via The Verge:

"T-Mobile will not carry the Galaxy Fold because we already offer customers a wide range of the latest smartphones," a T-Mobile spokesperson said. "Please reach out to Samsung for any further inquiries."

On the brighter side, for those who still want a Galaxy Fold under the T-Mobile network, an unlocked unit may still be an option, as there is no indication — at least for now — that the Galaxy Fold won't work on any major carriers.

Galaxy Fold Relaunch

Earlier this week, Samsung announced that it's relaunching an improved version of the Galaxy Fold. According to a press release published Wednesday, the relaunch will happen this September, although the South Korean company mentioned it'll only be in "select markets," which will be announced "as we get closer to the launch."

Samsung said the Galaxy Fold underwent some rigorous tests to ensure design improvements. Among the things the company worked on include the Infinity Flex Display's top protective layer, an additional protection from external particles, and reinforced top and bottom hinge areas.

Other improvements also include apps and services optimization for the Galaxy Fold UX.
