Google Pixel 3 may have some camera issues where stabilization for both photos and videos are shaky, according to user reports.

The camera on the Pixel lineup has typically been considered to be among the best out there, scoring high marks from testing outfits such as DxOMark time and again. However, despite that, it seems it isn't safe from issues such as this.

Pixel 3 Camera Problems

As reported earlier by Android Police, numerous owners of the Pixel 3 have posted about their cameras shaking on the Pixel Help forums and Reddit.

It's unclear why, but the issue is found primarily on the Pixel 3 and not the Pixel 3 XL, Pixel 3a, or Pixel 3a XL, though there have been reports of the problem showing up on other models.

It's also unclear what the root of it all is exactly, but the consensus is, it has something to do with the optical image stabilization (OIS) or autofocus mechanism. Some users have reported hearing a noise from the camera as well. In short, it's an issue with the hardware rather than with the software.

How To Check For The Camera Issue

YouTube user Julius Gunnilstam uploaded a video of the issue, showing that the viewfinder shakes or stutters a lot. Put differently, it's easy to determine whether the phone is experiencing the issue or not.

For good measure, it might be worth a shot to test this on the Pixel 3 XL, Pixel 3a, or Pixel 3a XL too.

At the moment, there isn't any known fix aside from replacing the affected hardware. Google has yet to acknowledge the issue as well, so it's still up in the air whether it will offer replacements or repairs.
