LG announced that it's going to attend IFA 2019 in Germany, inviting fans to "get the game on" in the form of a video (posted below).

While the company didn't exactly say what it's going to unwrap at the event, its invitational clip implies a new smartphone that supports its Dual Screen attachment, just like the V50 ThinQ. At that, it's believed to be the successor to the said device and is presumably going to be called the V60 ThinQ.

LG Sticks To Dual Screens

Posted on YouTube and other venues, the video shows an 8-bit game of sorts on a phone-sized screen that then unfolds, presenting another screen placed side by side with the first one. It then folds to reveal LG's event schedule: 10 a.m. on Sept. 6.

As mentioned earlier, one takeaway here is that whatever device the smartphone maker has in store will be compatible with its Dual Screen accessory or something along those lines. On top of that, though, it may have a small rectangular screen on its exterior to, perhaps, display notifications and the like. If that were the case, then it'll be an updated version of the Dual Screen attachment, but it's also possible that the tiny screen was just added in for the clip.

No Foldable For LG

LG first introduced the Dual Screen with the V50 ThinQ during the time that foldable phones such as the Samsung Galaxy Fold and the Huawei Mate X were the biggest craze. Thanks to that, the device managed to differentiate itself from the trend, which isn't necessarily a good or bad thing.

Speaking of which, the unveiling of LG's next phone will take place in the same month as the expected release date of the Galaxy Fold and the Mate X, meaning it'll likely compete with the two even if it isn't technically launching a foldable.

As noted, what the next Dual Screen smartphone from the South Korean brand is going to be called is still unconfirmed. In other words, it's unclear whether it's going to be the V60 ThinQ or not, but at any rate, it won't be long until the company takes the stage at IFA 2019 and showcase what it has up its sleeves.
