Nintendo is adding a new Switch accessory to its arsenal soon, but no one knows what the strange circular device is meant to do just yet.

While the company did not divulge much details on the upcoming accessory, it did release a teaser video showcasing everything that the wheel-like device is supposed to do.

Nintendo Releases Teaser Video On Switch Device

The short YouTube clip involved short clips of people all around the world enjoying the new circular accessory, although the company made sure to keep most of the details a mystery.

It's shown to be used attached to the Joy-Con controllers as well as a leg strap on a range of activities, including yoga. The other activities shown in the video are less clear with users jumping around, dancing, squeezing the device, driving, and running in place.

The variety of movements — some that looked natural, while others are quite awkward — in the short teaser suggests that the new accessory is related to sports and fitness experiences, although it's difficult to figure out exactly how it works on the Nintendo Switch.

As The Verge noted, it's not the first time that the company came up with strange controllers related to fitness with varying levels of success. Before this one, it was the Wii Fit and the canceled Wii Vitality Sensor.

Whatever this new device is, Nintendo promised that it will provide gamers with a "new experience for Nintendo Switch." Fans will not have to wait a long time for details, as the company will be providing more information on the bizarre yet intriguing wheel on Thursday, Sept. 12.

Super Nintendo Games Debut On Switch

Aside from announcing its new accessory, Nintendo also debuted an impressive variety of classic Super Nintendo games on its online Switch platform on Thursday, Sept. 5.

It is a move that many longtime fans will appreciate with the inclusion of well-loved titles such as Super Mario World, The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past, Stunt Race FX, Brawl Brothers, and more.

The company is also making a rewind function available at the launch, which gives users the ability to go back a few seconds after making a wrong move or dying.
