Twitch has suspended one of its streamers for wearing a Chun-Li cosplay, which the website deemed as "sexually suggestive content."

Art streamer Quqco recently livestreamed to her fans while donning a costume of the popular Street Fighter character. Her outfit was made up of a blue qipao and bun covers, which were the signature of Chun-Li's throughout her various iterations over the years.

However, Twitch found issue with Quqco's cosplay and subsequent behavior during her broadcast and promptly suspended her account temporarily for violating community guidelines. The website said that her video featured "sexually suggestive content or activities."

This was later confirmed by the streamer herself, who posted about the three-day suspension on her Twitter.

"I just got banned again for wearing a Chun-Li cosplay," Quqco wrote. "I am fully covered. I don't understand @TwitchSupport @twitch how is this sexually suggestive content?"

In an article by Kotaku, the streamer alleged that her outfit was one dress size larger to make sure that the usual slit on the skirt wasn't too high. She said the slit was actually cut lower compared to some of the runner shorts that she owned.

Twitch has yet to respond to Quqco's claim at the time of writing.

Twitch's Guidelines On Sexually Explicit Content

Much of Quqco's content on Twitch feature her drawing pictures of her favorite gaming characters while she talked to her fans. She often appears on camera wearing outfits inspired by pop culture such as anime and video games.

It's not unusual for content creators like Quqco to cosplay during their livestreams. Some Twitch users even wear outlandish outfits on a regular basis to help drum up the popularity of their videos.

However, this is something that has never sat well with Twitch. The website's guidelines have long prohibited users from appearing nude or wearing sexually suggestive attire in their livestreams. Streamers are advised to wear outfits that are "appropriate for public settings," such as those normally worn when in a mall or a restaurant.

In its email to Quqco, Twitch said it issued a Community Guidelines strike against the streamer because she allegedly shared or engaged in inappropriate content or activity. Since the video in question has since been taken down from Quqco's channel, it's difficult to tell whether Twitch flagged a specific moment during the livestream.

Quqco's Previous Suspension

This is not the first time Quqco has found herself in hot water because of her risqué livestream outfit. Her Twitch account was previously suspended after she wore a cosplay of Mai Shiranui from The King of Fighters franchise in one of her videos.

Quqco blamed a popular subreddit known as Livestreamfail for having report brigaded her channel at the time, which ultimately led to her banning from Twitch. She claimed that she was sexually harassed, and that all she did was wear a Mai cosplay while she drew.

The streamer said that a group of trolls may also be behind her recent suspension from Twitch. She believes that she is being targeted for mass reporting because she has been branded a "thot" online. Thot is a derogatory term used to refer to a woman who engages in multiple casual sexual encounters or relationships.

Quqco stressed that she doesn't engage in physical activities, such as dancing or squatting, in her livestreams.

Kotaku said its staff came across a comment on the Livestreamfail subreddit, where the user allegedly saw Quqco's livestream and reported it immediately. It's not clear whether the incident resulted in a report brigade against Quqco before the comment was removed from the thread.

Livestreamfail moderators denied having anything to do with Quqco's Twitch suspension.

"Considering the thread was submitted after her ban by Twitch it's pretty hard to argue that it's the result of a LSF brigade," one subreddit moderator said.
