PAX’s New Era Pro Can Track Your Cannabis Consumption, But There’s a Catch
For vape pod enthusiasts, this recently released upgraded product from PAX known as the New Era Pro is a game-changer. Recently launched at the CES 2020, it takes cannabis tracking to a different and smarter level. It gives users more peace of mind about what's in each pod, and this is especially useful for people who constantly get anxious about the amount of weed they are taking.
What's New With PAX's New Era Pro?
In 2016, PAX launched the Era vape line, which design and function are similar to those of Juul's products. A few years later, the brand known for its cannabis vaporizers rolled out the original pods. To help users tell the two pods apart, the company dressed the new version with a fresh design packaging and put a red ring around its cartridge.

The New Era Pro also sports a slightly sleeker cap, which slides more easily in and out of the pocket. It also allows better airflow, thanks to its improved laser-cut sits on the side. Moreover, it comes in three new exciting colors: jade, red, and silver.
Aside from its new and improved packaging, the upgraded weed pod showcases on-demand draw and closed-loop temperature control and recharges through USB-C. Compared to the original version, the New Era pod has a 50% better Bluetooth range and longer battery life.
How to Track Your Cannabis Consumption Using the New Era Pod
The biggest update perhaps is the inclusion of NFC-enabled pods called the PodID. Although the feature already works in the older Era versions, the new version's NFC capabilities allow the information on the pod to be read and shared through the PAX app. This means that pod users can now set a recommended temperature setting, and if the user overrides the setting, the pod will remember your information and save it for your next use.

The PAX's New Era Pro can serve as your new cannabis tracker. Here's how:
Simply insert the pod into the vape and connect it with the PAX app on your smartphone. Once connected, the app will readily show you a range of useful information, including the oil content, strain potency, flavor information, producer profiles, as well as state-regulated test results.
What's the Catch with the New ERA Pro?
If you can remember, Apple banned vaping apps on its app store in November. This means that the cannabis tracking feature of the New Era Pro will only be accessible through Android phones.
In an interview with Techcrunch, PAX said that they are already working on a solution to let iPhone users access their vaping information without the need for apps. Additionally, they reported that they're working on a web-based platform for iOS users. No timeline was set for this update yet.
