Humanity's creativity, when left unchecked, usually goes to far-flung places nobody expected anyone would reach. That's the case with Pokemon Sword and Shield fans who are responsible for some creative mods for the game.

But some mods go beyond creative and end up being just plain weird. We found five weird mods that will fulfill your fantasies (or fuel your nightmares) in Pokemon Sword and Shield.

1. Ball Guy

Ball Guy is a friendly mascot who aims to become the Pokemon League's official face. He greets the player inside the various Pokemon gyms and hands them some useful and unique PokeBalls for them to use.

The friendly dude never gets into battles, though, which is why modders thought it's great to have him appear as a Pokemon in Max Raid Battles. By replacing the in-game model of Machoke with Ball Guy's model, modder ProsafiaGaming made Ball Guy appear in Pokemon battles for the first time. To be fair, Ball Guy looks imposing in his debut appearance in battles.

2. Moon from Majora's Mask

This one is as creepy as it is weird. The menacing face that looks down on you while playing Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask could now be your pet Pokemon. Bring it to Pokemon battles and Dynamax it for maximum terror.

Modder Hallow recently shared his feat of transplanting the Pokemon Gastly with the terrifying Moon on Youtube. You may bring out the creepy Pokemon out with you, even go camping with it, through the mod instructions over at Game Banana.

The next couple of mods are also created by Hallow, who is really into modding in weird individuals in his Pokemon games.

3. Digimon

The long-standing debate between Pokemon and Digimon fans can finally be settled with this mod. Surely, Pokemon is the better series because you can apparently have Digimon in Pokemon, but not Pokemon in Digimon. We could thank Hallow again for this one, for replacing Charmander, Charmeleon, and Charizard with Agumon, MetalGreymon, and WarGreymon, respectively.

4. Jack Frost from the Shin Megami Tensei series

The Jack Frost from the Shin Megami Tensei isn't exactly something you'd want as a pet. It's a mischievous, malevolent being that uses its ice powers to play tricks on people and harm them.

That doesn't matter, though, because Jack Frost could become your absolute best friend in Pokemon Sword and Shield, thanks to Hallow. This Jack Frost replaces the Pokemon Cubchoo, an adorable ice bear that doesn't deserve to be replaced by a demon.

5. Mario

Last but not least is the big man himself, Mario. The face of Nintendo has never been inside a Pokemon game, which is a pretty lacking appearance rate if you ask me.

Thankfully, Mario is now in Pokemon Sword and Shield, again, thanks to Hallow. We really can't thank Hallow enough for his incredible contributions towards humanity. In this mod, Mario's model from Mario Kart 8 is used to replace Raboot's in-game sprite.
