Apple is expected to unveil the next OS for its platform on WWDC. iOS 14 is said to be supporting all of the iPhones currently on the market right now but will be cutting off the iPad Mini 4 and iPad Air 2.

According to the leaks posted by iPhonesoft, the following will be receiving the iOS 14 update, as per performance-wise, you can only speculate:

  • iPhone 11 Pro
  • iPhone 11 Pro Max
  • iPhone 11
  • iPhone XS
  • iPhone XS Max
  • iPhone XR
  • iPhone X
  • iPhone 8
  • iPhone 8 Plus
  • iPhone 7
  • iPhone 7 Plus
  • iPhone 6s
  • iPhone 6s Plus
  • iPhone SE
  • iPod touch (7th generation)

Now with the upcoming iPhone 12 line-up iOS 14 will probably the software they would be caring in their launch and all iPhones rumored iPhone 9 SE 2 to be launched this year as well. Now we move on to the iPad support for iOS 14 and what to expect:

  • 12.9-inch iPad Pro
  • 11-inch iPad Pro
  • 10.5-inch iPad Pro
  • 9.7-inch iPad Pro
  • iPad (7th generation)
  • iPad (6th generation)
  • iPad (5th generation)
  • iPad mini (5th generation)
  • iPad Air (3rd generation)

Now all this should be treated with a grain of salt since last time iPhonesoft leaked something about Apple. They were wrong with some things and right with others. So to say that this is something to be confirmed, it isn't.

What we do like to see however in the upcoming iOS 14 maybe this:

A Smarter and Improved Siri

Apple may have outdone themselves last year with iOS 13's Siri with a better, much more human-sounding voice, music, and podcast support. Siri is still a step or two behind Google Assistant and Alexa when it comes to answering general questions overall. This is something they should address and improve in this version if it wants it's Siri to dominate the AI assistants out there.

Better Camera's for all iPhones out Right now

Last year Apple made some minor improvements for the iPhone 11 camera features like Night Mode and the ever so handy zoom wheel, which helps out tremendously rather than the annoying pinch-to-zoom feature. If they were able to do this for the 11, why not older variants of the iPhone? Granted that it would be a stretch indeed for the older variants but may be possible for much more recent models.

Always on Display

Android has been doing this for years now, and it only makes sense that Apple should follow suit with their phones. The always-on screen for the iPhone should be somewhat similar to the lock screen to save time and battery. Remove the notifications, or maybe there will be but would disappear after a short period. Fewer reasons to put down the phone and not always pick it up.

All New Homescreen

Back when iOS 7 was introduced, it offered a brand-new look, and people loved it. Now though, no major improvements have been made so far, and it's time for a brand-new look. That's just the feedback people are saying from time-to-time, but this is definitely something Apple should look into doing.

With WWDC almost around the corner, it is nice to hear speculations and rumors about your beloved brand, as well as make a wishlist that would be helpful for all users.
