Most of the people who have access to the internet use at least one form of social media, this is a fact. Think you have control over everything you sign up with? Let's find out, shall we?

Facebook is one of the giants in social media, everyone has to have an account may it be for social connections, dating, business or even work -- Facebook is literally the place to be for almost everything now. Now, do you know how much Facebook really knows about your life -- even offline?

What is off-facebook activity:

Facebook gave us an insight just how much it really knows about us: an "Off-Facebook Activity" tracker is made available to its user database of over 2 billion members worldwide. This shows Facebook and everything associated with them like Instagram and Messenger doesn't really need a microphone to target you with very specific ads that cater to your wants and needs. Have you ever wondered what made them think that you just so happen to like this particular brand, and shoves ads in your face about discounts about it?

Facebook will know when you just entered your favorite shop, when you made a purchase of something online, your favorite site to read articles to stay up to date like Tech Times and the sort. They use all the information on your life and shape what you see in your social media accounts to make you think that the app is catering to your needs.

How to use the off-facebook activity?

Just so you know, the "Off-Facebook Activity" tracker will be able to show you about 180 days' worth of what Facebook and sister companies as well as all organizations who use this method. To find the direct link just click here instead of browsing through many sub-menus on the app.

If you think why Facebook is doing this now, it is mainly because of the promise that Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook stated that he will find a way to "clear the history" in our accounts for good due to the 2018 Cambrige Anayltica. Good on you, Mark!

Facebook's new tool, however, isn't as nearly as useful as your web browsers "clear history button" but it is a start to make people aware that they do have control over things they sign up for. Now Facebook gives you an option to detach some of its big brother's eyes on you.

Get ready to be surprised what you see in there though since maybe the things you secretly go to might just happen to be there on the app, best be sure to do it by yourself when you go browsing on your list.

Privacy Settings from Other Big Companies:

Let it be known that there is no privacy violation going on here. Facebook actually had the guts to give users their freedom to be tracked or not. Companies, apps, and other sites use this tactic for years on out and do not give their users an option to unsubscribe so to speak. Even Google doesn't offer anything such as this to their users. So think about that a bit more.
