Despite the growing cases in Washington State--about 13 identified infected and 150 to 1,500 possibly infected cases of the coronavirus or Covid-19, it seems like Emerald City Comic Con is still pushing through this year. For fans, this is good news, but this event may pose a huge health risk to everyone who has made their mind to attend. The event is slated from Mar. 12 to 15, but is it safe?

The organizer's take on the whole situation

Although the risk of the coronavirus or Covid-19 is very real, the organizers do not seem to want to let fans down despite the ongoing health risk. The organizers are said to take extra preventive measures to ensure the safety of their participants, but this comic book convention may still hold such a high risk of contamination if the health matter is not handled professionally.

As expected, Comic Con would definitely increase sanitary measures

According to the organizers, there have been enhanced cleaning and sanitation procedures and resources that will be made available and abundant during this event as a precautionary measure and they are ensuring their participants that they would be adhering to the guidance of the US EPA's Emerging Pathogen Policy which should be a good guideline to follow especially with the ongoing infection risk.

This move may be a shine of hope for fear of the coronavirus or Covid-19

Despite the panic circulating and the countless events being canceled and others at risk like Spring Break in Miami, it may be a good sight to see Comic-Con still push through and allow people to go out of their box of fear and once again have fun with their respective friends and communities. The risk is still very present, but at least people do not have to live in fear and have something to look forward to. The previous Emerald City Comic Con had about 100,000 participants in attendance, and nobody knows if this year would see more or would see fewer participants because of the scare.

Washington State takes this matter very seriously

The Governor of Washington has already declared this matter a state of emergency since there have already been infections within the city, and there is huge evidence that the virus is spreading locally. Whenever a state of emergency is being raced, there comes a lot of restrictions, which makes it quite special that the Comic-Con push through.

Either the state does not view Comic-Con as a threat, or the state has already prepared extreme measures to counter this virus. Participants of this year's Emerald City Comic Con are still thrilled that this event is still pushing through despite the fear of the coronavirus or Covid-19. Comic-Con has always been a happy place where people come to celebrate. It is quite refreshing for participants to know that the event pushes on!
