Xiaomi Corporation, a well-known Chinese phone brand founded in 2010, patents a new looking phone that may end up in stores in the future. The phone, though looks physically normal, has a weird camera that can be rotated for 360 degrees. The new camera module also seemed to be spinning. Here's what it looks like.

Chinese phone patents new cam set up so you can twist your camera

A lot of people think that Chinese phones are cheaper because they are less quality compared to American brands like Apple or Google. Or even South Korean counterparts, Samsung or LG.

Here's a fun fact. Sometimes this claim doesn't have a basis, especially when Xiaomi patents a new looking camera for their future models.

Xiaomi is one of the most well-received phone brands in the world. Due to its cheapest rate compared to other phone brands, this Chinese phone brand has made its name in the consumers, especially for gamers. On the other hand, this enthusiasm may be boosted more after the company patented a new design for its weird-looking camera setup.

Here's what it looks like...

GizmoChina released the images of Xiaomi's patented new camera. The camera setup design offers a fresh idea for a 360 degrees front and back cameras. From the images, it looks like the camera setup can be spun and automatically rotates once the camera is turned on.

The aim of the design is pretty clear. Xiaomi wants to remove all the unnecessary space taken by the front and back cameras of a phone. This means that the phone will offer a wider screen for its users since the camera space will be removed.

If you don't get it, imagine a phone that has a pop-up camera. Once you want to take a picture, the camera will be then, showing up. Once you close it, the camera will also be removed instantly. That's what Xiaomi intended their cameras to be.

Let's be clear: it is different from Samsung's Galaxy A80

If you're thinking, how in the world is Xiaomi's rotating camera different from Samsung's Galaxy A80? Here's the answer: They are different from each other.

You see, Samsung's Galaxy A80 released last year, offers a triple rotating camera-- with no notches. This is different from Xiaomi's rotating, yet pop-up camera.

Although it also wants to achieve a notch-less camera setup and removes the display hole of the cameras. Maybe that's what they're similar to.

Nothing's for sure

Sorry to burst your bubble, though. This camera setup is only a patent design.

Xiaomi has not yet announced its plans to create a mass-production of this design, so don't let your hopes high. Remember, not all patents come true.
