A new hero amidst Coronavirus pandemic has now gained popularity on social media. Not only that, but he also received $20,000 for standing up against a person that deliberately won't wear a face mask in the middle of a public place. Here's the story.

'Stood his ground': Barista gets $20,000 tips for fighting vs. new 'Karen'

A story of a woman ranting about her barista in a Starbucks coffee went Facebook viral on Monday, June 22.

Amber Lynn Gilles, living in San Diego, posted an image of her Starbucks barista, refusing her to be served with coffee. The barista said that he won't be serving coffee on Gilles since she was not wearing any face masks when she entered the store.

This action of the barista made Gilles angry about the store. She posted the image to bash 'Lenen' and said that 'next time I will wait for cops and bring a medical exemption.'

What Gilles did not expect is that social media users won't take her side in the story. She was then, labeled as the new 'Karen,' or when a middle-aged White woman is associated with rude and obnoxious acts against another person.

Post now went viral

Her post already received over 100,000 reacts (mostly angry and laugh reacts), 48,000 shares, and over 130,000 comments.

Most of the comments were pointing out how stupid her reaction was against the Starbucks barista.

"Are you really crying cause you had to wear a mask for 10 minutes to get coffee then leave? Is it really that hard? Just wear the mask get your coffee then take it off when you leave Karen Jesus Christ," said the user.

"Oh please do call the cops next time, darling. Make sure you go live on Facebook so that everyone can witness the public humiliation in its entirety, and bring a step stool as well; it's going to be a mother on your ankles when you come down off your high horse," said another user.

Thanks, Lenin!

After assuming to be humiliated on Facebook, Lenin Gutierrez-- the barista that served 'Karen'-- was shocked when his GoFundMe page reached its quota $20,000 for just a couple of days.

He thanked all the people that donated money on his page. Lenin also posted a video saying his side of the story during the said incident.

According to him, when Gilles entered the store, she was not wearing any face masks. He asked whether she had one but said that she doesn't need it.

"She started calling people sheep, and she left," Gutierrez remarked. "Within a few minutes she came back and asked for my name, she took a photo of me and said 'I'm calling corporate' and started cussing some more at everyone and just left."
