A Chinese scientist who claims that the COVID-19 pandemic started in a military lab came out to media to expose what she says is the 'truth' behind this global issue.

Speaking with Fox News, virologist Dr. Li Meng-Yan, said: "I have to hide because I know how they treat whistleblowers, and as a whistleblower here I want to tell the truth of Covid-19 and the origin of the SARS-2 Covid virus."

The expert said she fled to the U.S. from Hong Kong as she feared she would 'disappear' along with her evidence to back up her claims. She added that the Chinese officials are covering up the truth about the military lab being the origin of the virus and that they knew about the disease at least one month before the public announcement of an outbreak.

One of her major claims is that the virus originated in a research facility linked to the People's Liberation Army.

According to Dr. Li, the government of China has censored her studies and findings that could have saved many lives all around the world.

She shared that by December last year, she was asked by her supervisors to investigate a new virus secretly. She then claimed that her supervisors, who are field experts, dismissed her findings and warned her not to cross the government's 'red line.'  She was also told to be careful and remain silent.

"This is a huge pandemic we have seen in the world," she said.
