For many people on the East Coast, Tuesday was miserable. It snowed all day, meaning that many major businesses and locations were completely shut down. It certainly wasn't a blizzard, but Tuesday's storm was just enough to be obnoxious for everyone to deal with.

One location that was shut down Tuesday was the Smithsonian's National Zoo in Washington, DC: nobody's going to want to watch the animals if they have to stand out in the cold, right? The animals were probably all huddled up in their respective homes anyways; even animals don't want to be stuck in the cold.

Of course, one of the most adorable displays of animal cuteness was going on when no one was allowed inside the zoo. Those animals look like they're having the times of their lives! Even animals that would seemingly be uncomfortable in the snow were getting in on the fun:

Out of all of the zoo's displays, the most popular by far is Bao Bao the baby panda. Bao Bao is basically a giant pile of black and white fluff (which is just as adorable as it sounds), and she wasn't about to miss out on the snow, either. Here she is enjoying her first snowstorm:

It's almost painful to watch something that cute play around in the snow. It's every childhood fantasy of what panda bears are supposed to be!

Then again, it could all be cover for something far more sinister...perhaps the zoo is training its animals in order to build some sort of militarized panda army?

We're onto you, Smithsonian.
