If your parents disagree whenever you play your favorite video game late at night, this country has a different stance on this subject. In India, students are now being pushed to play online games such as the popular PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUND (PUBG) to be paid for their job well done.

Play to get paid in India!

Remember when your parents always get mad whenever you play video games, all-night-long? Well, in India, it is the other way around.

The Economic Times first reported that the country's Union Education Ministry has a well-prepared plan for all gamers in their community: Get them to play to get paid.

That's right! In India, students are now being pushed to play their online games as a part of the newly changed education curriculum. As explained by the agency, online gaming in the second-most populous country in the world, India is one of the most active 'hobbies' that Indians always do.

To make something out of nothing, the Indian government proposes to support students in the field of online gaming and toy-making industry-- by making a national level 'hackathon' on online games.

Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank announced this new prerogative via his Twitter account on Sunday, Aug. 23.

Aside from the free training for online gamers, the agency also wanted students to be given special training to teach toy and puppet making.

It will be introduced as a theme of 'Kala Utsav'-- or the initiative wherein students are encouraged to use art in education and allowed to explore and develop various local toys.

Unfortunately, the report did not entail how much the salary would be for those students who'll pass the special training.

PUBG adds new eSports tournament

One of India's most played online games is the popular battle royale game called PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUND (PUBG).

As India announces a new curriculum for those playing it, PUBG was recently signed up for a new eSports tournament.

Engadget said that players worldwide are welcome to compete in the event with a prize of $2 million at stake.

James Yang, Director of PUBG Mobile Global Esports, mentioned that PUBG Mobile will be combining the existing World League and World Championship into one large "mega-event."

Maybe this is what India has been preparing its students to do.
