Is Elon Musk's Neuralink chip dangerous?

A co-founder of one of the leading cryptocurrencies, Ethereum's Vitalik Buterin, has a recent warning on the upcoming Neuralink invention.

Almost two days before Elon Musk's launch of the device, Buterin posted a tweet saying that mixing brain and centralized digital tech have risks that people should be warned about. And it mainly targets anyone's 'privacy.'

Am I the only one who finds genetic enhancement of humans *much more palatable* than brain implants? Genes are hard to target; there's no "gene for obedience to the communist party". He also mentioned that these brain implants are 'highly skewed' when it comes to their prices. Since the brain chip targets to make the brain function more effectively, only those rich people could actually avail to have one-- making it sound unfair to those who can't.

Buterin was also alarmed with the possibility that people's emotions could be controlled with this type of device-- suggesting major breach on people's privacy.

"I'm sure the brain implants that people will come up with by default could be easily backdoored to surveil people's moods even about specific topics and so forth," says him.

Over the past weeks, Musk's Neuralink brain chip has been the highlight of the tech world. After all, this is the very first device that could actually play with the function of the human brain.

Tech Times reported that on Wednesday, Aug. 28, will be the much-awaited launch event of the brain chip. According to Elon Musk, this will be the first time that the device would be seen on the public as under 'working' progress.

In the first reports of Tech Times, it was mentioned that the device could make humans hear music inside their brain, expand the human's hearing range, or even change a person's moods or emotions.
