The multinational Japanese conglomerate, Sony, is leaked by the game developer, Ubisoft, stating that the highly-awaited PlayStation 5 (PS5) would not support backwards compatibility. PS3, PS2, and the PlayStation games are reportedly not available for gaming in the new console, unlike in its previous incarnation.
The French video game company's publisher and support team seemingly posted an "accidental" leak on their website that answers Frequently Asked Questions or FAQ referring to the new PlayStation 5. Transitioning will happen once the PS5 becomes available for the market.
Game Zone reports that Ubisoft is used to leaks of their own, but not of other company's products. PlayStation 4 games will be available to play on Sony's brand-new PS5 but selected titles only. PS4 games would also be available for multiplayer and match up against PS5 in playing the same game.

Microsoft vs Sony: Backwards Compatibility Edition
It is no doubt that the Japanese company, Sony, has been long and superior to Microsoft's Xbox console lines. PlayStations were released earlier by two years compared to Xbox, and for this reason alone, Sony gathered a lot of players and loyalists for their console devices.
Despite saying this, PlayStations were notorious for not letting old games transition to new consoles with the history of PlayStation 3 to PlayStation 4. History seems to be semi-repeating itself with older games on previous consoles are not backwards compatible.
Microsoft, on the other hand, differs from the Japanese company by making their games available to upgraded consoles that offer an extensive backward compatibility feature. Xbox Ones can fully support Xbox 360 games and gives players comprehensive updates that suit the old games to new consoles.
Digital remastering occurs for free in Xboxes, with their support and patches for old games. This optimization helps the old game perform better in new consoles.
PS5 Release, News, Specs, and What to Expect
Sony moves forward with the future of selling games that is only meant for the PS5, exclusively offering new and upcoming titles to encourage people to upgrade. The new PlayStation 5 nears its expected release date on the late part of 2020. This is Sony's PlayStation refresh after six years since the PS4's drop on November 2014.
Fans anticipate the release of the new console and its exclusive games with the likes of Horizon Forbidden West and Spider-Man: Miles Morales. While these games are the 'hype' of the console's release, other titles include Assassin's Creed: Valhalla, Battlefield 6, Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War, Cyberpunk 2077, Fortnite, and many more.
PS5's reveal on March teased fans all over the world on what to expect with the new PS5 and why people will need to upgrade despite having the previous console. PS5 boasts of a new 'space' design that differs to the sleek black look of the PS4, something that the PlayStation has sported since it released the PS2.
Sony's PS5 will also have a Solid-State Drive (SSD) for its fast boot of games, making it adept to higher graphics and even 4K compatible games. Since Sony boasts performance, PS5 will have 16GB GDDR6 of RAM and AMD Zen 2 CPU.
Despite all this, PS5 will still not support backwards compatibility for older console games; however, it aims to play all PS4 games according to Sony.
