Nintendo will give a throwback treat to those who grew up in the 80s with the revival of the classic Game & Watch, just in time for the game's 40th anniversary. This will bring more fun playing Super Mario Bros. while reminiscing our childhood.

The handheld gaming system was unveiled on Thursday in a YouTube video that shows the more advanced features of this classic game. While built is reminiscent of the original version, except for the plus-shaped directional pad that first came out in the 1989 Zelda game, the 2020 sports a lot of great features that will appeal to the younger generation.

The current version now features a colored LCD screen, which gives a great sigh as the original one was still in black and white. It also has USB connector for recharging the battery as well as an onscreen digital clock that players can crack open to reveal more coins and items.

The Japanese gaming company created the device for 11 years until 1991 when Nintendo Game Boy took over. Each device only has one built-in game, which led in a series of 59 black & white games.

Following the Game & Watch's success, Nintendo also released the Nintendo Entertainment System and Game Boy in 1985 and 1989, respectively.

The Game & Watch 2020 will be available in the market in November, in time for its 40th anniversary for $49. Its preselling details will be announced soon in its official website. It will now have three built-in games, which include the Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels, and the classic Ball game.

The Ball was the first game included in the original version released in 1980. The new version will have Mario playing the ball game, instead of the alien-looking figure. Meanwhile, Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels was released in Japan as the Super Mario Bros. 2. Hopefully, the handheld gaming console, which caused a sensation when it first came out 40 years ago, will trigger the interest of the young-then and the youth now.

After the success of the device in the early 1980s, Nintendo went on to release the popular Nintendo Entertainment System in 1985 and Game Boy in 1989.

This is not the first time the company has re-introduced a console as Nintendo put back its retro NES in the market in 2016.
