Apple announced a recall of an estimated 432,000 15-inch MacBook Pro laptops due to concerns of overheating batteries that could catch fire. The recall is for 15-inch MacBook Pro laptops sold between September 2015 and February 2017.

Mac Rumors reports that TSMC will manufacture the Apple Silicon chips of the new MacBooks, using a five-nanometer fabrication process. This means that the upcoming product could also have the A14 chips from the iPhone 12 and iPad Air.

Why? Because A14 is the only chip that was made using a five-nanometer process, currently. It was also rumored that the tech giant company might introduce more Mac devices powered by Apple Silicon.

The announcement is expected to take place in the second quarter of 2021.

The tech giant manufacturer will host an Apple Silicon MacBook online launch event next Tuesday, Nov. 10, which is the same date it will start shipping the delayed 5G iPhone 12 Pro Max and iPhone 12 Mini.

China will still manufacture the new MacBooks

It was also rumored that China will still manufacture the new Apple Silicon MacBooks. The Asian country will also produce older models of iPhones made from October.

The giant manufacturer still faces challenges because of the ongoing global pandemic. However, it still has high hopes for its first-ever 5G iPhones.

Not only that, but Apple also experience geopolitical uncertainties since there is an ongoing tech war between the United States and China. Its revenue in the Asian country has dropped around 29% in 2020, which is the lowest record since 2014.

As of the moment, the number of Apple Silicon MacBooks is still just a speculation. There are still some factors that might affect the company's production plan.
