Sony's PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles are not exclusively for gaming anymore as starting today, Apple TV's application is available for download to stream the platform's TV Series and Movies. The collaboration between Sony and Apple opens up a massive exclusive feature that centers on the PS4 and PS5 consoles as the sole source of entertainment for users.

Smartphones are not the only all-around gadgets in the market today because Sony steps up its PlayStation consoles, particularly the latest releases of the PS4 and PS5, to feature Apple TV's streaming platforms right on its systems. The streaming would be available via the Apple TV app that is now available for download on Sony's website.

Apple TV+: Branching out to Sony's PlayStation Consoles

The need to switch from HDMI source to the TV's internet browser or built-in Apple TV application would now diminish and change. The PlayStation that is hooked up to one's television would be sufficient to stream favorite films and flicks that are available on Apple TV's platform.

Additionally, the gamer's television would not need to have the Apple TV 4K box that is purchased separately from the Cupertino giant's website or trusted Apple retailers. The PlayStation console would act as the substitute for the TV box and serve as the streaming partner of Apple's services.

The new application joins the launch of the next-generation console, the PlayStation 5, which will soon see its shipment and arrival on pre-order user's doorsteps. The North American region is one of the first locations that would first receive the PS5 in a few hours, while other areas would see a November 19 release.

Both the PS4 and PS5 would be able to download the application from Sony's website and online store, which also holds the games that are bought and downloaded online. According to 9 to 5 Mac, Sony promised its console users that this would soon be available on the PlayStation over a month ago and now sees its delivery.

The subscription service would stream not only exclusive Apple production content but also several third-party providers such as CBS Showtime, Noggin, and Starz. The Apple TV+ subscription package starts at $4.99 for its monthly fees, accessing the massive library of everything Apple. Shows such as "The Oprah Conversation," Bill Murray and Rashida Jones' "On the Rocks," Jason Sudeikis' "Ted Lasso," and action-thriller "Tehran" are all up for grabs on the streaming platform. The titles mentioned earlier are some of Apple TV+'s original production content but are not limited to them.

Apple TV App: Also Available on Xbox One, Series S, and X

Microsoft's Xbox is also getting on the console-streaming capabilities with Apple TV+'s services as the Cupertino giant also makes it available for the American gaming platform.

Xbox is also known to have tie-ups with the Walt Disney Company's Disney+ streaming platform which recently hinted a new collaboration with the popular series "The Mandalorian." This collaboration remains unknown but is speculated to either be a new game or soon cross-platform streaming.
