"World of Warcraft: Shadowlands" is the eight expansion of the game, which recently launched on Monday, November 23. It began right after the Battle for Azeroth, which ended with Dark Lady Sylvanas Windrunner's journey from a High Elf to the Queen of the Undead. She then became the Warchief of the Horde before becoming a full-fledged villain as she betrayed the Alliance, deserted the Horde, and crushed Lich King's crown.

This led the sky to rip open, creating a portal to the world of the dead, called the Shadowlands. Players must hit level 50 to be able to enter the Shadowlands where they can explore five new zones: Maldraxxus, Ardenweald, Revendreth, Bastion, and Maw.

Like in the past expansions, there are tons of things to do in "World of Warcraft: Shadowland." However, players should take note of the game's new currency, called the Anima, which could greatly help throughout the journey. Here's a guide on how to get Anima and how to use it.

What Is Anima?

In Shadowlands, Anima is more than just a currency or power source. While it is a resource that players would want to have, Anima is soul in its literal essence. Achieving more successes means getting more Anima.

'World of Warcraft: Shadowlands' - How to Get Anima

As all Shadowlands factions want to get Anima, players can obtain it with various rewards from most endgame contents, so even casual players can have it without much of a hassle.

One way to get Anima is to reach max level and join a Covenant to unlock World Quests where players can easily get Anima. Secondly, there is an adventures list, which is like the Mission Table, in which Anima is given out as a reward in the listed quests. Finally, by speaking to NPCs, players can unlock Covenant Callings quests at the home base of the player's chosen Covenant. Aside from the Covenant specific rewards, players will also get Anima from these quests.

If Anima easy to get, why is it in such high demand? Here are some of the ways to use Anima. Shadowlands' four Covenants use Anima and each of them provides three different uses for this power source. The first two uses are creating a transportation network as well as unlocking additional activity, which are the same for all Covenants. Meanwhile, the third use is unique, which creates a minigame with various rewards. Players may use Anima to strengthen Covenants and brings out Renown, which helps in unlocking specific rewards.

Getting Anima easily is one of the numerous things that players would like about Shadowlands. However, unlike other contents, Anima is not the endgame grind, so no need to search for it all the time.

Earlier this month, "World of Warcraft: Shadowlands"' speedrunner DesMephisto released a comprehensive guide, in which he details how he reached the max level in just five hours and 37 minutes with not exploits or tricks done. The Google Spreadsheet guide wrote instructions for all four new zones, including the links to addons that DesMephisto used as well as the best armor to wear. It could help in winning quests and achieving rewards, and Anima.

"World of Warcraft: Shadowlands" is currently available on PC.
