December is here, and Nintendo's "Animal Crossing: New Horizons" is soon releasing the popular "Toy Day" that is the Christmas event equivalent of the game, featuring tasks and challenges to receive special holiday-themed items. However, Toy Day 2020 would require special tweaking before players can join the event.
The famous Japanese video game developer and entertainment company, Nintendo, is getting ready for one of its most massive events in the "Animal Crossing" franchise, Toy Day. The game's holiday equivalent would feature the yuletide season right on December 24, also known as Christmas eve.
"Animal Crossing: New Horizons" was recently released for the Nintendo Switch platform, focusing on the new hybrid console. It also brings the famous simulation game that has been a long-running franchise for Nintendo. The game had plenty of "Toy Day" events in the past years, but this year would be slightly different thanks to Nintendo's particular requirements.
Additionally, according to Nintendo's website, "Animal Crossing: New Horizons," Toy Day would be available after accomplishing a series of tasks beforehand. The black-nosed reindeer "Jingle" will come on the island in time for the Toy Day 2020 event but would not appear for people who have not updated version 1.6.0c, which is one of Nintendo's special requirements.

Ensure the game is updated to the latest software version that would receive the Toy Day 2020 event. The software version is 1.6.0, also known as the "Winter Update" for the game. Press the + button and access the system's option from the Home menu. Upgrade the game if it is not yet up to date.
Link Animal Crossing to Nintendo Account
Create a Nintendo Account or Link an existing one to the "Animal Crossing: New Horizons" game. The game only needs one Nintendo Account to use despite the multiple profiles in the game platform. Check-out Nintendo's support website to know more.
Accomplish all Resident Services Building Task
According to Nintendo, the task can still be done on the day itself. However, it is best to accomplish it before the actual event to avoid any problems once December 24 comes. By doing this, all the elements of Toy Day 2020 would appear during the event proper.
Set Animal Crossing's Date and Time to Real-World Equivalent
Set the Nintendo Switch's main options' date and time to be in-sync with the real-world's actual date and time. If not, the event would not appear in the game on December 24.
Start the game on December 24 (Updated Version, Date, and Time)
The updated version should work on December 24. Launch the game on the said date, and the title screen should show "1.6.0c." If so, players can continue without an internet connection.
