'Cyberpunk' PS5 performance

Redditor u/jay4399 shared in r/PS5 subreddit his initial impressions of the game as he got his "Cyberpunk 2077" early. While he did not stream the game, he said that he was able to play the game on his new PS5 console after downloading approximately 46.106 gb of files for "day one patch."

He confirmed the availability of the game's four levels of difficulty, which include the easy, normal, hard, and very hard levels. Meanwhile, character customization and choice of lifepaths are being done at the onset of the game in which players may choose from around 30 hairstyle options. They may even choose single or dual colors for the hair. Players can enjoy seeing their face and body customization through reflections and mirrors, particularly when driving a bike since "Cyberpunk" is a first-person game.

'Cyberpunk' PS5 vs Xbox performance

Meanwhile, for Xbox, Reddit user r/DanXcel confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 will have two graphical modes. First is the quality mode, which focuses on image quality and has 30 FPS. The other one is performance mode, which prioritizes the frame rate over quality of the image as the game will run at 60   fps. Although resolution may take a slight slump, the overall image quality is not much sacrificed while it plays much smoother.

The current v1.0.0.5 also has a total size of 59.2 GB, which is about 6GB added on the original game file. While there are still much unsure about the game, r/DanXcel said the game went on performance as default.

He also revealed that while playing on performance mode, he noticed drops in the resolution. "I can't tell how low it goes or how high it goes. My best GUESS is that performance mode runs dynamic resolution and resolution dips in order to keep frame rate stable," he said on his post in subReddit r/XboxSeriesX. He also noted that "anything can change" once day 1 patch was released. He also shared that using an LG CX with VRR has enabled the game to run smoother.

'Cyberpunk' PS5 vs PC performance

Meanwhile, although both gamers on PS5 and Xbox Series X prefer playing "Cyberpunk" at 60 FPS, the 30FPS quality mode will suit best gamers who prefer using robust photo mode. For PC, not much has been revealed yet, but players would need to prepare their systems before the launch to run the game smoothly.

As earlier reported by Tech Times, "Cyberpunk 2077" will support ray tracing and DLSS 2.x to give players full fidelity, but they should also have advanced graphic cards with at least a GeForce RTX GPU.

However, according to WCCF Tech, early PC performance tests of the game showed that AMD & NVIDIA GPUs were struggling to run "Cyberpunk 2077" at 4K, even without using Raytracing. This means that the performance may not be final, but an early peek at how the game would run.

While the game has a total of four DLSS presets: DLSS Performance, Quality, Balanced, and Ultra-Quality, Tomshardware tested the game at both Ultra and Medium presets at 1080p, 1440p, and 2160p resolutions. Based on the review, both the balanced and performance modes gave the most tuned performance game experience, although quality provided better visuals, although it was more taxing.
