The American video games developer and publisher, Blizzard Entertainment, would soon begin its Christmas-themed special event for "Overwatch" called "Winter Wonderland" this 2020 on Tuesday, December 15. However, there is still no news about the full list of skins that would appear and release at the event.

'Overwatch' Winter Wonderland 2020: First Skin Release is Penguin Mei

The event would last for less than a month, from tomorrow, December 15, to Tuesday, January 5, 2021, offering players a chance to enjoy the winter holiday festivities in the first-person shooter game. Before yesterday, there were no official releases or leaks regarding the skins that would release at the event, only predictions and speculations.

"Overwatch's" Twitter account (@PlayOverwatch) revealed that the first skin to take on its Christmas themes is Dr. Mei-Ling Zhou, also known as "Mei," with its penguin-inspired outfit and special weapons. "Penguin Mei" is the first and probably the last character to have its reveal before the Winter Wonderland event, but worry not, the whole roster of specials would come on Tuesday.

The costume received mixed reviews by the game fans, commending the new skin for capturing the cute and bubbly personality of Mei, but it does not beat last year's Legendary skin for the Winter Wonderland event. Also, users have argued that Mei is the character that deserves to have a new skin after a long time. Reddit's r/Overwatch community has started a thread over a month ago on who would be their prediction and pick to receive a skin on the upcoming Winter Wonderland 2020 event for the holiday season.
