As Verizon launched its partnership with Discovery+, it is now offering its new and existing customer free 12 months subscription for the new streaming service, which officially launches on January 4.
Discovery+ is a brand new streaming service which provides thousands of episodes on-demand Discovery content and over 50 originals. It houses contents from the History Channel, TLC, HGTV, Food Netflix, Discovery Channel, A&E as well as BBC's Planet Earth, Blue Planet, and other natural history programs.
Discovery Plus Verizon Free One Year Subscription
In the U.S., Discovery Plus streaming service will normally cost $4.99 per month while its ad-free subscription is $6.99 per month. However, Verizon customers can get free Discovery Plus subscription for up to 12 months with select Verizon Unlimited plans or with a new 5G home internet or Fios plan.
According to Gizmodo, since Discovery Plus is become available in the website, smart TVs, tablets, mobiles, and other major platforms such as Roku, Apple devices, Xbox One, Android devices, Samsung smart TVs, Xbox Series X and other next-gen devices, Chromecast with Google TV, and Fire TV devices, which will include Prime Video channel. Subscribers can add up to five users on each account as well as four simultaneous streams.
How to Get Your One Year Free Discovery Plus with Verizon
Verizon customers can enjoy up to 12 months free streaming service from Discovery Plus. According to the Verizon website's Discovery Plus landing page, there are four ways to claim the free subscription. Check how to do it below:
For existing Unlimited subscribers
Sign in to the Verizon account. Choose the rightmost option on the website and click the Learn More link, which would take users to add-ons menu where various packages and promotional offers are listed. Scroll down and look for Discovery+. Click on the Get it now button.
For existing Verizon subscribers
Those who are not yet on Unlimited plan may choose to upgrade to Verizon Unlimited to enjoy the free Discovery Plus streaming service. When signed in to the Verizon account, go to Discovery Plus landing page on the website, click either the second or third options and click Switch now or Change plan links.
For Internet users, $35 Start Unlimited plan and the $45 Do More Unlimited plan will provide six months free Discovery Plus subscription while $45 Play More and the $55 Get More Unlimited plans will give free Discovery Plus service for 12 months.
For non- Verizon subscribers
Meanwhile, non-Verizon customers may still be able to claim a free seven-day Discovery+ trial. After one week, they will be charged depending on the plan they chose when they signed-up, either $5 with ads or $7 for ad-free.
Take note that subscribers will need to accept the Verizon terms and conditions on the next page toad the service to the account. Also, the promotion provides ad-free version, but it means subscribers will need to pay $6.99 per month once the free trial expires. Otherwise, they need to cancel the subscription after the trial ends, so they do not need to pay for the service.
