MacRumors reports that Apple is looking forward to completely reimagining its coming new Macbook Pro. The New update seems to address a number of issues that owners have experienced from the past to the present. What's seemingly interesting is that the new Macbook Pro model is reported to bring back features that have been dropped from old Macbook Pro Models.

Apple Brings Back old Features and Bids Goodbye to TouchBar for New Macbook Pro

Information is coming from a reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. According to him, the new design is reported to include more ports to the next MacBook Pro. Macbook's ports has been a major issue for users. Apparently, Apple has replaced the previous ports design, which includes a USB-A, HDMI, and SD card reader into an all-USB-C port. As Apple claims, the USB-C can be a "versatile" feature that can be used for many things including data transfer, charging, video output, etc.

In reality, users are forced to use adaptors and dongles to utilize the USB-C ports for different uses such as connecting to external displays, printers, and other gadgets. It added a whole new level of inconvenience for users as adaptors can be quite a pricey addition and an accessory that can be easily damaged and misplaced.

Kuo notes that ports will make a significant return, although he did not specify which among these will come back. Moreover, the slim chassis of the Macbook Pro will still limit the available ports that may come back to the new model. A thick, ethernet port may not make it back if Apple keeps the same chassis design.

Magsafe is also reported to make its return. It is a feature that uses magnets to keep the laptop connected with the charger. Even when the cable is yanked away, your machine is still safe on the table. It serves as a safety blanket for unforeseen circumstances at home with kids running around or in the office. Last 2016, this was removed by Apple. In the next launch of the new Macbook Pro, this is expected to make its way back.

Kuo says that the new Magsafe will be built on the same system that iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro has. This system allows wireless chargers to stick to the back of the handset by utilizing magnets. However, he hasn't clarified which side of the laptop will enable the charging.

One final change that nobody has probably anticipated is to strip out the Touch Bar. According to Kuo, Apple will finally be getting rid of the Touch Bar for the next Macbook Pro Model. The Touch Bar is a mini touchscreen that replaces function keys on top of the keyboard. Whatever functions the user would use are the ones that would appear in the Touch Bar screen. This simplified the previously complex menu hierarchies in the function key. It's also used in scrubbing through videos and filling in emojis. However, Apple seems to fall out of the wagon for the Touch bar.

As told during Apple's 2016 keynote speech, users prefer the physical feeling of touching function keys beneath their keyboards instead of touching a screen. Express Co reports that Kuo has an impressive track record in releasing news about Apple rumors, so we can take this information a bit more seriously than just a typical Apple "leak".

New Macbook Pro Reminiscent of the Past but Better

With all the changes that has been reported, we'd like to describe these as changes that are reminiscent of 2015 Macbook Pro models, yet obviously better- with improved features, and function. It seems like Apple is finally able to convince old Apple fanatics to upgrade their units for once. With upgraded battery life, battery keyboard, and ofcourse, the most notable M1 chipset, it would definitely be a worthy upgrade from past Macbook Pro models.

The new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro is anticipated to launch later this year during Apple's third financial quarter in 2021.
