PS5 Restock 2021: What Are the Dates for Availability in Target and Other Retailers?

Since its launched in November 2020, the PS5 console has been very difficult to purchase as it gets sold out just minutes after it hits the shelves.

But you could have another chance to purchase one before the end of January 2021 as Target is said to be planning a series of new PS5 restock in its store branches across the United States.

According to Spiel Times, the new Target restocks could show up any time on January 19, 20, 21 or 22. The schedule sounds very vague but Spiel Times did correctly break the news of a previous Target PS5 restock on December 29, it gave that as one of the several possible PS5 restock dates. Although it is a rumor for now, a lot of people are anticipating it.

The new report explains that the PS5 consoles will be sent to Target's physical stores across the United States. You will still be able to purchase them online if you are fast enough.

However the precise amount of available stock will depend by how many Target branches are in your area, whether they have received any PS5 stock in the past, and if they have, how much stock did they get.

This is considered very tricky because according to the sources of Spiel Times, each Target store only receives between 4 and 12 units, while another source states that the units could be anywhere between just one PS5 console to 20 PS5 consoles.

If you combine this very low availability with it being unknown when exactly the stock will hit the shelves so you can order, you getting the chance to purchase a PS5 console is dime a dozen, unless you regularly check the availability online. If you are lucky enough to live in an area with a high number of Target branches, then you can raise your chances of getting a PS5 console.

Sadly, this is the reality of finding where to purchase the PS5 console, a lot of crossed fingers and patience. The rumors, tip-offs and updates show that there are more opportunities on the way to grab one for yourself.

Sony itself has taken to announcing the restocks of the PS5 console, even if the console shortages are expected to last for at least a few months.

As of 5:27 a.m. ET on January 19, there is still no PS5 available anywhere. Sony Rewards Store and Dell both had PS5 stock just last week, but they sold out immediately within minutes. Both stores offered the same bundle, a PS5 console with an extra controller for $569.

The great news is that a regular PS5 stock tipster has stated that millions more consoles are expected to arrive very month until April 2021. So it is possible that you can see an increase in stock very soon. A massive U.S PS5 restock is rumored to happen this week.

Even if you do happen to get a PS5, you may have to be patient. There have been reports from shoppers saying that their PS5 units are taking weeks before it is delivered.
